Filament is the "ink" for an FDM 3D printer. It's essentially a special plastic filament tightly wound onto a spool.
How it works
The printer draws the filament in, melts it in a hot nozzle, and deposits your future part in thin layers. Once the plastic leaves the nozzle, it quickly cools and hardens, turning into a solid object.
